During this FREE, six-week workshop you will learn a variety of self-management skills to help you “put the life back in your life,” so that you can maintain and/or increase the daily activities of your choice. What you learn, will enhance the treatment plan recommended by your health care provider.

- Managing Fatigue
- Healthy Eating
- Low Impact Exercising
- Communication effectively with family, friends and your health care team.
The six-week workshop begins on April 12 and will be held every Tuesday from 1 p.m – 3:30 p.m

LOA is participating in the Belk Charity Sale to raise funds for Meals on Wheels. The Belk Charity Sale is a private, four-hour sale dedicated to supporting local non-profit organizations. Participating charities have the opportunity to raise money by selling event tickets at $5.00 each—100% of the proceeds from the tickets sold by LOA are retained for Meals-on-Wheels.
Anyone who purchases a $5 ticket can:

The eat-in portion of the event will be held at the Kazim Temple, 628 Campbell Ave SW (next to the LOA central office). Curbside pickup orders will be available for pick up in the LOA parking lot.
One $15 ticket will purchase a gourmet lunch. The menu is Gourmet Deli Sandwich on Telera Bread with ham, turkey, provolone and cheddar, Italian Pasta Salad, Fresh Fruit; Chips, A Sweet Treat from The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center and Bottled Water. Vegetarian Option is a Deli Sandwich served with spinach, tomato, red onion, cucumbers, portabella mushrooms, red yellow and green peppers and double cheddar and provolone cheese. Ticket holders are invited to “eat in” at the Kazim Temple Ballroom and enjoy live entertainment by Jane Powell and William Penn and Friends and check out the Meals on Wheels Raffle. The proceeds from each ticket purchased will provide Meals-on-Wheels to the homebound elderly right here in the Roanoke Valley. Every ticket sold will purchase your lunch and provide a $10 donation to Meals on Wheels. In 2015, the event raised more than $64,000. The Meals-on-Wheels program serves a nutritious lunch to homebound elderly 60 and older every weekday. The proceeds from ticket sales are used solely for the purchase of the meals.
