Are You O.K.?
LOA Area Agency on Aging administers a FREE computerized telephone reassurance program called "ARE YOU O.K.?"

"ARE YOU O.K.?" is a way to check on the well being of a senior citizens who might require assistance or who might face medical emergencies alone at their residence. LOA operates the program Monday - Friday -- volunteers make reassurance calls on the weekends.

Seniors receiving the service are telephoned each day at a specified time. If calls are not answered or a continuous busy signal is encountered, an "alert" is issued. LOA has rescued individuals who have become ill or had an accident during the night.

"ARE YOU O.K.?" provides peace of mind to those receiving the service and to their families, and is available to anyone in the Roanoke Valley over age 60 who would like to know that he/she will be checked on every day.

If you, or someone you know would benefit from "ARE YOU O.K.?" call (540) 345-0451 to enroll.
