Senior Companion Program
     If you are . . .

  • 60 years old or older;
  • On a limited income;
  • In good health; and
  • A Loving, caring and sharing person

The SENIOR COMPANION PROGRAM needs you!

As a Senior Companion, you will receive many benefits!

  • A $2.65 non-taxable hourly stipend
  • Annual physical
  • Assistance with transportation costs
  • Meals or reimbursement for meals
  • Accident and liability insurance
  • On-going training
  • Recognition

Loving
     As a Senior Companion, you will be helping people your own age and their families deal with the consequences of the gift of time. Your loving spirit will keep another happy and independent.

Caring
     Simple words of encouragement, being there to help out with the little things, and listening -- shows that you care.

Sharing
     Sharing your time and energy is the greatest gift you can give. You'll be helping your new friend stay healthy. You'll be making the lives of others a little easier. You'll be making a difference.

The Senior Companion Program is sponsored locally by the LOA Area Agency on Aging and is part of the Senior Service Corps and federally funded through the Corporation for National and Community Service.  Funding is also received from the Foundation for Roanoke Valley.
