“When I am not able to drive I have no family or friends to ask and to make bad matters worse, I cannot walk very far. So you’re giving me transportation makes it possible to stay in my home and take care of myself. For this I thank you and bless you.”
Vital Services Transportation is a program available to individuals 60 or older, with low incomes, who have an emergency need for transportation to a doctor, to the pharmacy, grocery store or other critical appointments. We help those who need door to door assistance and who have no other source for transportation or means to pay for transportation. Individuals are transported by volunteers or taxi-cab.
To enroll in this service, call the office nearest you. Our staff will complete a brief assessment to ensure you qualify for the service. Once qualification has been established, we ask that you provide us with at least two days notice if you need a ride.
