LOA Holds First Annual Elder Justice Alliance Day

Local Office on Aging (LOA) Holds First Annual Elder Justice Alliance Day
A unique opportunity for seniors to meet one-on-one with community agencies and organizations.

ROANOKE, Va. (March 12, 2026) – The Local Office on Aging (LOA) will host its first annual Elder Justice Alliance Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Elder Justice Alliance Day is an appointment-based senior resource day designed to connect older adults with trusted professionals who can help address important life concerns. During this personalized event, seniors will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with experts such as legal aid representatives, local law enforcement officers, financial specialists, and Medicare advisors. Whether they have questions about benefits, safety, legal matters, finances, or estate planning, seniors will receive guidance, reliable information, and referrals tailored to their individual needs.

“Elder Justice Alliance Day brings together trusted community partners in one place so older adults and their families can get answers, guidance, and peace of mind about important issues that affect their safety, finances, and well-being,” said Ron Boyd, President & CEO, Local Office on Aging.

Appointments ensure dedicated time with each professional, creating a comfortable and supportive environment where seniors can receive practical advice and feel empowered to make informed decisions.

The purpose of the event is to move beyond simply distributing resource information and instead provide structured opportunities for seniors, families, and caregivers to meet directly with professionals who can offer meaningful assistance. Elder Justice Alliance Day will convene agencies and experts who address elder justice, consumer protection, legal advocacy, fraud prevention, and other concerns in one location.
